Sunday Services

Church Sanctuary

The sanctuary is unusually beautiful during Sunday services. Sunlight streams in through the upper pyramid ceiling windows along with views of the beautiful natural hill setting.

Worship at Crystal Springs Methodist Church in San Mateo, CA, (see map) centers around hearing the Word well-proclaimed in speech and music.   Since the arts often communicate God’s love better than words music is a featured part of our service and drama is often also used to enhance our experience of God’s love. In addition, our informal style allows us to have a time of discussion and a time for meditation on its personal application.

Every Sunday morning at 2145 Bunker Hill Dr, San Mateo, CA:

  • 10:00 am – 11:00 am Worship Celebration (note: Child care is provided for younger children)
  • 10:15 am – 11:00 am  Sunday School for older children    (note:  The children start in the regular worship service at 10:00 am then leave the main congregation for Sunday School at 10:15 am)
  • 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Fellowship time after the service

Children

We believe that children are important to the spiritual growth of all. Therefore, our children have their own special time each Sunday morning during the first 15 minutes of Worship Service.  On the first Sunday of the month they attend the entire Service which is oriented towards them. The first Sunday of each month is also when we celebrate communion.

After a brief 15 minute children’s sermon, children leave the main service to attend Sunday School.  Children, ages pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade, attend Sunday School (or the main service if their parents prefer).  Child care is provided for younger children during the worship service.

Special Sunday Service Events

First Sunday every month - Communion.  Our children attend this entire service.
Fourth Sunday every month – Chancel Drama.
Holidays – During Holidays such as Christmas and Easter a variety of special services are held.
