Paul Berensmeier – Guest American Native Flute Player 8/31/2014
Paul Berensmeier will be performing the Native American flute at church service on August 31st, 2014. He will be playing two songs: “My Lord, What a Morning!” and “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.”
Here is his bio:
In the summer of 2007, Paul successfully auditioned for a master class with internationally renowned flautist R. Carlos Nakai at a week long Native American flute workshop in Montana. The experience inspired him to start the first Flute Circle in Marin County beginning in October 2007. It is open to all interested in learning to play the Native American flute. In addition, Paul recently started a Native American flute class for Middle School students at Lagunitas School which is filled to capacity and has a waiting list. In the summer of 2008, Paul returned to Nakai’s workshop and at Nakai’s request taught a class on teaching Native American flute to Middle School students. Paul performs on his classical flute with the Magic Flutes Flute Orchestra in San Mateo, in addition to regularly performing on Native American Flute for weddings, memorials, and various ceremonies in addition to playing out in nature.

Guest Handbell Ringer for 8/17/2014 service
Lynnelle Bilsey will be the guest handbell ringer for the August 17th 2014 service.
Here is her biography:
Lynnelle was first introduced to the art of bell ringing when she and her family moved from Minnesota to California. She fell in love with the art form instantly and has led choirs, seminars, master-classes, mass rings and tours ever since. She is an accomplished solo and ensemble ringer and given solo appearances at regional, national AGEHR conventions and the 1st. International Handbell Symposium.
She and several of the choirs she has directed have attended the local Spring Ring festivals, participated in two Mass rings (over 65 ringers at each) which Lynnelle directed and most recently performed for the Mission Hospice ‘Annual Service of Remembering’ in December, 2006. In addition, Lynnelle helped create the UMC Golden Gate Conference Mass Ring Festival directing the first two festivals. She was also accepted as a ringer for the National UMC Handbell Choir for the 2005 Conference.
During the daytime, Lynnelle is the Senior Volunteer Manager for Invasion Shelter Network.
